As part of efforts to ensure a hitch-free Sallah celebrations, the Inspector-General of Police, (IGP) Suleiman Abba, has ordered zonal Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police to put adequate measures in place for the provision of watertight security across the country before, during and after the celebration.

They are to ensure that all vulnerable points, places of worship, recreation centres, resorts and other public places are adequately and effectively protected to enable worshippers and the public  to enjoy maximum security.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Force Spokesperson, Emmanuel Ojukwu, and made available to Daily Independent, in Abuja, Thursday.

While extending his hearty greetings to all Muslims in Nigeria, on this year’s Eid-el Kabir celebration, Abba commended officers of the force for their tireless and selfless service to the nation.

The IGP, however, assured them that the administration of the Force was committed to revitalising the Nigeria Police and to ensure that the Force is positioned, as a highly dedicated, professional, motivated and efficient Police Force.
