Lawmaker presents gift items, cash to widows
THE Deputy Chief Whip, Delta State House of Assembly, Friday Osanebi, has presented various gift items and cash to over 600 widows in Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani local government areas of the state.
Osanebi said the gesture was in line with his earlier decision to always mark his birthday, which is October 7 every year, with the needy in the society.
The lawmaker stated that it was a thing of joy to be in the midst of widows across Ndokwa nation to celebrate his birthday with them, saying aside the gift items, the occasion provided opportunity to pray with them, eat and dance together to the glory of God.
Osanebi, who represents Ndokwa East at the state Assembly, disclosed that his passion for the less privileged was borne out of the need to making life worthwhile for them, saying he had remained a father to the orphans and husband to the widows, particularly in Ndokwa.
He enjoined the widows to have faith in God and continue to pray for God’s will to come to pass in their lives, their children, the Ndokwa nation and Delta State, restating his commitments to quality representation of the people of Ndokwa East at the Assembly.
A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart in the state and governorship hopeful, Godwill Obielum, commended Osanebi for his care for the less privileged, urging the people to remain committed to goals and aspirations of those that add value to their lives.
The PDP Woman Leader in Ndokwa East, Carolyna Eduzuka, a widow from Ndokwa West, Maria Opia and another from Ukwuani Council Area paid glowing tributes to Osanebi, saying he had continued to put smiles on the faces of the widows and orphans in Ndokwa nation.
