PDP Inaugurates Zonal Integration Committees Today

As part of preparations for the 2015 general election, the national leadership of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will today inaugurate its zonal integration  committees across the six geo-political zones at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja

According to the party, the committees comprising prominent party members, “are poised to fully reconcile and integrate old members back to the party and swell the support base of the party ahead of 2015 general election.”

However, the PDP in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, yesterday apologised to the leaders and critical stakeholders of the party in the South-east geo-political zone for “the unintended omissions in the published list of the PDP Zonal Integration Committees.”

The party particularly apologised to the “Chairman of South-east Governors’ Forum, Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State, who we have immense respect for.”
The statement read: “We also apologise to the humble and matured Governor of Ebonyi State,  Governor Martin Elechi and the hard-working Governor of Enugu Atate, Sullivan Chime, on behalf of our entire members and stakeholders in the South-east.

“In the light of the foregoing, the following leaders are hereby specially included in the list: Governors Orji, Elechi and Chime.
“Chief Jim Nwobodo, Fidelis Ozichukwu and other respected party leaders from the zone.”
According to the statement, the inauguration ceremony would be performed at its Wadata Plaza National Secretariat, Wuze Zone 5, Abuja.
