Halima Wada Empowers Idah Women With 1,000 Fish Fingerling
Wife of Kogi governor, Halima Wada has empowered Idah Women Fish Sellers and Smokers Association with 1,000 fish fingerlings through her NGO, Kogi Women in Agriculture (KOWEN).
Wada made this known on Monday in Idah during a courtesy visit by members of the association to her office.
She said that the 1,000 fish fingerlings would assist them in the improvement of their commercial participation in fish business.
Halima urged the women fish farmers to take advantage of her NGO in meeting the fish needs of the state.
She pledged the continued assistance of her NGO to the women in putting machinery in place to establish more small scale industries in other parts of the state for women.
The governor’s wife urged other women groups in Idah to form cooperative groups spread across the 10 wards of the local government to attract sponsorship. (NAN)
