Inter-agency Collaboration: IG Visits Service Chiefs

In furtherance of his avowed commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration in the ongoing war against violent crimes and insurgency in the country, the acting Inspector-General of Police (IG), Suleiman Abba, yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, as well as the Chief of Army, Lt. General Kenneth Minimah.

The IG, in a release signed by the Force spokesperson, Frank Mba, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), promised to strengthen the age-long cooperation between the military and the police and enjoined the military authorities to continue to extend their support to the police in providing adequate safety and security for the country.

In their various responses, according to the release, the CDS and the army chief congratulated the new IG on his appointment and promised to team up with him as they redouble their efforts in all areas essential to the war against terror, including training and joint military-police operations.

In a related development, Abba equally paid a courtesy call on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed, who was said to have warmly received him and expressed optimism that the new IG will bring his experience to bear in the current effort to ensure lasting safety and security in Nigeria.
