Ebola: Lagos Sets up Emergency Operations Centre
BY ABU IDRISU:
As part of proactive measures to stem the spread of the Ebola virus, the Lagos State Government with its relevant partners, yesterday set up an emergency operations centre for the virus.
The aim of the centre is to ensure that all information emanating from the centre are properly crosschecked.
According to the information released by the centre, the Ebola patients are still receiving care and those who have come in contact with them are being traced to offer them support.
But investigation across the state showed that there were still many who do not understand what the virus portends although they are aware of its existence.
To redress the lack of awareness, Lagos State Ministry for Health has created and launched a website for the purpose of enlightening the public on the destructive effects of the virus.
The website, www.lagosebolaresponse.org, was created owing to the ignorance and misinformation about the Ebola virus being peddled around
