We’re Ready To Conduct Credible Guber Poll In Osun – Jega

Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Prof. Attahiru Jega, yesterday assured that the commission has put all measures in place to conduct free, fair and credible election ahead of the gubernatorial election in Osun State.
Jega who stated this in Abuja during an interactive session with newsmen in Abuja, noted that the commission is poised to ensure that the Osun election surpasses the outcome of the Ekiti Election which was adjudged free, fair and credible. The election holds August 9.
Jega, listed some of the measures to include a sanitised and credible voters registers and Permanent Voters Card (PVCs), the use of colour coded ballot papers and the utilisation of super racks which entail the deployment of materials ahead of the election proper. He emphasised that by 8am, 95 per cent of the polling units were operational which was a huge departure from previous system.
He further underscored the engagement of all stakeholders and training of staff as a major contributory factor in making the election successful.For the Osun election Jega said, ”We have replicated all we have done in Ekiti state.
