2015 elections will be credible –Ajibola

BY ABU IDRISU:

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Cooperation and Integration in Africa and New Partnership for Africa’s Development, Senator Simeon Ajibola, has said with the performance of the Independent National Electoral Commission in the Ekiti State governorship election, it would conduct credible, transparent, free and fair elections in 2015.
He also charged the critics of President Goodluck Jonathan to be fair in their criticism, claiming that Jonathan had improved infrastructure across the country and had started educational revolution especially among almajiris in the northern part of Nigeria.
Ajibola spoke when he donated items such as rice, milk and sugar to Peoples Democratic Party members on Sunday in Ilorin to commemorate Ramadan.
Ajibola, who represents Kwara-South on the platform of the PDP, urged Nigerians to support the Federal Government and the security agencies in efforts to curtail insurgency and transform the nation.
The governorship aspirant added, “The Ekiti election has shown that the Independent National Electoral Commission will be free and fair. The Ekiti election was transparent.
“If INEC could cope with Ekiti which appeared to be more volatile politically than Kwara State, it is obvious that it can perform even better in Kwara State.
“INEC delivered credible election when Dr. Goodluck Jonathan was elected President in 2011 and everybody applauded the conduct of the election.
The PDP Publicity Secretary, Kwara State chapter, Chief Rex Olawoye, said many aspirants in PDP had empowered party members and other residents in the state.
He stated that there cannot be mobilisation as well as sensitisation of people without positive gesture and positive movement and actions from good leaders.
“There is no way you can sensitise and mobilise people without movement and empowerment, this is one of the good gestures to kick start mobilisation in Kwara State,” he said.
