2015: Imo needs a transparent, honest governor
Former Minister of the Interior and All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, governorship aspirant in Imo State, Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho, yesterday said the state seriously needs a honest and transparent governor.
Such a governor, he added, would anchor his governance on accountability for the purpose of achieving genuine economic growth, as well as restoring people’s confidence in the governance of the state in 2015.
Iheanacho stated this in Owerri, the state capital, while addressing his supporters.
He argued that governance all over the world has remained a serious business that is always approached with maturity and sincerity of purpose.
He said: “I have taken my time to study our present situation as regards to governance of our dear state. Regrettably, certain leadership ingredients such as honesty, transparency and accountability, which ultimately should drive good governance, are completely lacking in the system.”
He, however, noted that the only solution to the problem is nothing but electing a mature person as a governor in 2015 who would exhibit accountability, honesty and transparency in governance.
“Having assessed other aspirants, I have the capacity needed to salvage and reposition our dear state,” he stated.
