Ondo to hold council elections in December
The Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko has said that the the local government elections will be held in December, 2015 .
The election would be the first of its kind since the commencement of the Mimiko-led administration in 2009 .
The governor made this known on Monday during the inauguration of caretaker committee chairmen for the 16 local government areas of the state.
In preparation for the election, Mimiko stated that the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission would soon release the guideline for the polls.
Mimiko said, “I enjoin you to meet, as far as practicable, the aspirations of the people you govern. Accordingly, I hereby charge you, to consolidate on the various achievements already recorded by your predecessors in office.
“You have to ensure that none of the people-oriented projects you meet is abandoned as governance is a continuum. You are also to ensure that you make life comfortable for the people in your domain by fast tracking the socio-economic transformation of your communities through purposeful leadership and creativity in governance which is the hallmark of our 12-point agenda.”
