Insurgency: Minister solicits support for President Jonathan

BY ABU IDRISU:

The Minister of Transport, Alhaji Umar Idris, on Sunday urged Nigerians to continue to support
President Goodluck Jonathan’s efforts to fight insurgency and speed up development of the country.

Idris told newsmen on Sunday in Gombe that their support would help in ending the insecurity in the country.

I want to call on the people of Gombe and Nigerians in general to continue to support President Goodluck Jonathan and Gov Ibrahim Dankwanbo in the fight against insurgency.

He noted that the attacks by insurgents had claimed many lives and injured a lot more.

Idris said that the Federal Government had been assisting victims of insurgency through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

He thanked the president and NEMA for sending assistance to victims of the Gombe motor park bomb blast.

The minister also advised residents of Gombe and other Nigerians to be vigilant and to cooperate with NEMA and the State Emergency Management Agency and render assistance to victims.
