NEMA Provides More Relief Materials To Adamawa IDPs

In view of the dearth of food and other consumables in some IDP camps in Yola, the National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) has distributed assorted food and non- food materials to the Malkohi and Yolde Pate IDP settlements in Yola yesterday.

Items provided by NEMA to the IDPs include detergents, soaps, bags of rice, bags of millets, mats and other consumables.

Presenting the materials at the two settlements, the Adamawa State NEMA camps coordinator, Saad Bello,  noted that the materials were provided in view of the demands for relief package as put up by the leadership of the various settlements.

He urged the leadership of the IDPs to ensure equitable distribution of the relief materials to all and sundry noting that the materials were provided to the IDPs for the benefit of all.

Bello noted that his organization would continue to provide relief package to the IDPs whenever such requests were made urging the IDPs to reciprocate the gesture by ensuring judicious use of them just as he advised them to avoid selling the relief materials.

He noted that in view of the successes being recorded by the Nigerian troops in liberating more territories, NEMA was working arduously to ensure that materials were provided to the IDPs as they relocate back to their homes.

Similarly, the NEMA camp coordinator, has presented assorted drugs provided by the governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, to the Malkohi IDP clinic.

He noted that during his visit to the camp about a month ago, the governor has promised to donate drugs worth N5 million to the IDP camp so that the medical needs of the IDPs could be addressed.
