It Will Not Be Business As Usual, AMAC New Boss Tells Staff
The newly sworn-in Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Abdullahi Candido has told staff of the of the council that the era of laxity in the course of doing their jobs is over, that it will not be business as usual as his administration takes over.
Candido who gave this warning during his taking over the mantle of leadership in AMAC, said that the leaders in the new administration on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), are not angels, but that they will operate on very diffrent pedestral from the outgone administration and will continue from where it stopped.
He said that although the administration is new, they will collectively fight corruption, so that it will bring a lot of resources for the people to get the dividends of democracy.
“Corruption has eaten deep into the council and we will fight it out. We are not angels, but we will do the best we can to bring about the needed change. I am not going to propagte a Gwandara programme, we are government of the people and we are going to promote a very fair government that everybody willl benefit from,” he said.
The new AMAC boss who congratulated the outgone chairman, Hon. Micah Jiba for the successful two tenures in office, said he is ready to sacrifice his life in the interest of the council, advicing staff of the council to exhibit total commitment in service delivery.
“If you are a senior staff and you are not ready to be committed to service in AMAC, go to the commission and seek for transfer. If you are a junior staff, be ready to work. The habit of been absent from work, should change or be ready to resign.
“Because this administration has come to instill the needed discipline in the council and those senior staff that are not ready to comply should go to the commission and seek for transfer and we are going to do everything possible to make AMAC united, because it is a unites area council,” he said.
