Hajj: FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Begins Refund To 2015 Pilgrims


The FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board is to commence the refunds to Pilgrims who perform hajj through the Board in 2015 for the services not rendered during the last exercise.

A statement from the board’s spokesperson, Muhammad Lawal Aliyu said that the refund was as a result of collection of the funds from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) as refund for services not rendered to the Pilgrims during the 2015 hajj exercise.

The spokesperson explained that a total of 2,845 Pilgrims who participated in the 2015 hajj are to receive the sum of N21,192.14 (Twenty One thousand, One Hundred and Ninety Two naira, Fourteen Kobo) each as refund.

Lawal advised pilgrims who participated in the exercise through the Board in 2015 to forward their application for the refund stating their bank account details to the director of the board as no cash payment would be entertained for the refunds.

Lawal added that Pilgrims are expected to attach any evidence of performing the hajj in the year such as receipt of payment, photocopy of the visa page in their passport, Pilgrims’ identity card or passport attachment to claim the refund.

The application for the refund can be submitted to any official of the Board in the six area councils of the FCT or at the Head Office of the Board located at the Central Area, Abuja to claim the refund.

He explained that Pilgrims who have no bank account are expected to forward letter authorizing the board to pay the money into third party’s account which the detail shall be provided by the beneficiary.
