Jigawa Gov Encourages PDP Members To Support APC Incoming Govt

Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido has called on all the PDP supporters to see the All Progressive Congress APC in-coming government as one for all Jigawa indigenes.

As such, he asks them to support her since she is going to work for collective interest of the people of the state.

He made the call Thursday in Dutse while speaking at the Government House shortly after signing the 2015 budget in to law.

Lamido said despite that the incoming administration is an opposition APC, “it is a government voted by the people of the state and they are to serve the same Jigawa State people”.

He also expressed gratitude to God and thank the entire people of the state and all that serve in his administration working with him to take the state to another level of high esteem.

The out-going governor asked the in-coming government to pursue the over N11billion that federal government is owning Jigawa state. He said that among others, President Goodluck Jonathan had promised to construct an international Airport in the state. “Based on the president’s promise, we at state level constructed the airport on the agreement the FG would pay back. We spent N17billion. The FG then made a part-payment of N800 million and later paid another N5billion some months back. So, we still have a balance of N11billion to be collected from the FG.

“Now with the APC FG and State governments, the new administration should ensure they pursue and collect the money owed by the out-going FG and deploy the money to improving the socio-economic lives of the people of the state.

“We initially planed to leave office with no liability and lots of money in the treasury. We have various ongoing road projects in many parts of the state and if the President Jonathan’s FG had fully paid our money, we would have completed and pay for the projects leaving without any liability”.

However, we are hoping that the incoming administration would bring positive changes in improving the socio-economic lives of the people to continue from where we stopped.
