Kogi Assembly Re-run: APC’s Haruna Idoko Upstages PDP’s Ukwubile in Idah
The candidate of All Progressive Congress, APC, Honorable Haruna Idoko Musa has emerged winner in the Idah’s state constituency repeat rerun elections held on Saturday, July 23 to the Kogi State House of Assembly.
In the rerun supplementary election that took place in just one polling unit, Idoko garnered 187 votes against his closest challenger and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Honorable Ukwubile Acharu Ochijenu who managed to poll 27 votes.
Idoko, a former chairman of Idah Local Government Council and erstwhile Assembly member between 2011 and 2015 will return to the hallowed chambers following his latest landslide victory in the re-run elections.
Following the victory of the 43-year-old Idoko, the difference in parties remained unchanged with ruling APC hold 10 seats against 15 members for the majority PDP.
