Edo Assembly Gets New Speaker As Ativie Steps Aside
Member representing Igueben constituency, Justin Okonoboh, has emerged Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, taking over from Elizabeth Ativie who stepped down from her role.
Leader of the House and member representing Owan East Constituency, Folly Ogedengbe, who moved the motion for the handover, stated that there was need to balance political power across the three senatorial districts of Edo State.
Former Speaker Edo State House of Assembly, Elizabeth Ativie, who represents Uhunmwode constituency is now Deputy Speaker.
All other officers of the House remain unchanged.
