NHIS Set To Flag Off First Pilot Project In 3 Plateau Villages
The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) is set to flag -off its first pilot rural project in three rural areas beginning with Shiwer village of Kanke Local Government Area of Plateau State.
A statement signed by Ishaku Wongden , the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Shiwer Mutual Health Association (SMHA) and made available to newsmen in Jos at the weekend, said the programme is aimed at bringing health care closer to rural communities through a mutual health insurance scheme.
“It is also aimed at rekindling the hope of the average Nigerians of having a reliable and affordable healthcare delivery system”
It could be recalled that Kanke was one of the LGAs in Plateau that was recently invaded by snakes and over 50 persons were bitten.
