Poll: TMG Deploys 4,000 Monitors

The Transition Monitoring Group (TMG) Thursday announced that it will deploy 4,000 citizen observers to monitor the Presidential and National Assembly Elections.

Addressing a press conference, the Chairman of TMG, Ibrahim M. Zikirullahi said the group will have mobile and stationary citizen observers in every geopolitical zone, every state plus the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and all 774 local government areas (LGAs).

He said as part of its observation effort, TMG will conduct a Quick, an observation methodology that employs well-established statistical principles and utilizes sophisticated information technologies.

The TMG boss said the Quick Count provides the most timely and accurate information on the conduct of voting and counting and is the only observation methodology that can independently verify the official presidential results as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
