Niger Gov Fires SSG, Appoints Ibrahim Ladan New SSG
The governor of Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has removed the secretary to the state government (SSG) Shehu Danyaya and replaced him with Mallam Ibrahim Isa Ladan.
A statement by the Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Jonathan Vatsa yesterday in Minna indicated that the new SSG has been inaugurated and has taken over immediately.
According to the statement “A new secretary to the State Government (SSG) has been appointed. He is Mallam Ibrahim Isa Ladan from Borgu local government. The new Secretary to the State Government who replaced Alhaji Shehu Danyaya from Kontagora local government, is an APC chieftain in Borgu”.
The statement by the commissioner indicated further that the new SSG is an experienced grass roots politician who has been with the All Progressives Congress. The new SSG was a member of the Federal Character Commission, and contested for the senatorial ticket of Niger north of APC for 2015 general election and lost to the incumbent senator at the primary election.
Whereas no reason was given for the removal of the former SSG who is from Kontagora local government as the governor , however, since the appointment of the former SSG, tongues have been wagging on the rationale behind the SSG coming from the same local government as the governor.
