Villa Bubbles With Life Again As Buhari, Osinbajo Resume Work
The Presidential Villa which has for the past three weeks been silent like a graveyard, bubbled with life Monday as both President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo resumed duty in their offices inside the Villa for the first time since the inauguration of the new administration on May 29.
The duo ?since their inauguration on May 29, have used the Defence House, Abuja as their operational bases while renovation work was ongoing.
As early as 7am, ?most of the State House staff had arrived their duty posts. The offices were opened as early as few minutes past 8 a.m.
Some of them confirmed that they had left their homes as early 5am, in order to be on their duty post well before the official opening hours of 8am.
Osinbajo had arrived his office in the Presidential Villa around 9.07 a.m and proceeded to the President’s office at about 10.50am.
As Osinbajo was trekking the long distance from his office to that of the President, some State House workers were seen exchanging pleasantries with him.
Buhari and Osinbanjo thereafter met with some of their top aides.
While the meeting was ongoing, service chiefs also arrived at the premises to meet with the President.
Buhari finally relocated to the Villa on Sunday barely three days after his wife, Aisha, relocated.
The car park which has been almost been empty was filled up around 10.00 a.m.
