Abia Tribunal Upholds Ikpeazu’s Election As Otti Kicks, Heads To Appeal
Abia State gubernatorial election petition tribunal sitting in Umuahia, the state’s capital has upheld the election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
The tribunal, Tuesday in Umuahia dismissed the petition filed by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Dr. Alex Otti challenging the declaration of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr. Ikpeazu the winner of the April 11 gubernatorial election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The tribunal judge dismissed Otti’s petition for lack of merits and inability to convince the tribunal beyond reasonable doubt.
But Otti and his party, APGA, we learnt had immediately after the judgment headed for the court of Appeal to appeal the judgment they described as travesty of justice.
