FG awards immediate repair of Abuja-Kaduna road
FEDERAL Government has awarded contract for emergency repairs of the 164-kilometre Abuja-Kaduna dual carriageway.
The award was sequel to the planned usage of the Kaduna International Airport for flights in and out of Abuja, while the runway of Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, undergoes rehabilitation.
Bisi Agbonhin who is Director in charge of information at the Federal Ministry of Works confirmed this on Monday.
He said that the contract for the emergency repairs of the road was awarded to Messrs CGC (Nig.) Ltd. at a cost of N1,058,958,958.54 (One billion, fifty-eight million, nine hundred and fifty-eight thousand, nine hundred and fifty-eight Naira, fifty-four kobo), with a completion period of 50 days.
The director further disclosed that procurement processes for the award of contract for the rehabilitation of the Abuja-Kano dual carriageway, which had earlier been captured in the 2016 budget, remained on-going and will be awarded as soon as a “Certificate of No Objection” was received from the Bureau for Public Procurement (BPP)
