Tension In APC As Supreme Court Rules On Kogi Governorship Poll

There is serious fear among leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court, is set to rule o?n the Kogi State governorship election this week.

The court is set to decide who among Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abiodun Faleke of APC and Bello also of APC is the duly elected governor of the state.

There is also the probability of the court calling for rerun poll and giving judgment on who can take part in such a poll.

While Wada of the PDP is asking the court to declare him the validly elected governor following the death of Audu Abubakar of the APC while the election was yet to be concluded, Bello and Faleke are at war over who is the authentic ?APC candidate following Audu’s death.

However, the fear among APC leaders both in the state and at national level is that their inability to come together to fight Wada and the PDP could give the state to the PDP.

Already, the Bello and Faleke issue has created bad blood among APC leaders including President Muhammadu Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Buhari is supporting Bello, while Tinubu is Faleke’s backer.

Meanwhile, the police in the state have suspended demonstration, street jubilation or any form of protest in the state.

The step is to prevent possible breakdown of law and order.
